Yea well i really screwed up and sent the wrong motor to the shop, got the 96 and 94 blocks mixed up and the wrong one got sent out.
Well I guess I have a 1994-5 2.2l block for sale...... 20 over!!
^ Im with him on just getting the right year. Although a 94 should have the pad and hole for the sensor already in the block. You will have to swap your 96 cam into the 94 engine for the sensor to pick up the reluctor notch. Everything will work fine after that.
no it doesnt have the place for the sensor, ive got the 96 cam in it no crank sensor in it yet. gunna have to get the right year block and get that done first. Means I have a 94/95 2.2l block 20 over for sale
Thats wierd, I put a 94 motor in my 96 a few years ago and it had the spot for the sensor already there. It had a small freeze plug in it to keep it from leaking oil out. Just popped the plug out and the sensor went right in.
Where are you located? I happen to have a 96-97 motor thats also .020 over that I never put together. I have everything for it to go back together. New hypereutectic pistons, sportsman rods, rings, gaskets, headstuds, ported head and a ton of other stuff. PM me if interested.
Yea the freeze plug hole is for the cam sensor? I looked it up and it said the crank sensor. your talking about the place on the bell housing side right?
your the one the methioned crank sensor
the crank sensor has nothing to do with the 94-97 blocks its all the same its the camshaft sensor were talking about
