Hey all I just bought my first Cav its a 99 Z24 5 speed. I got home and noticed that none of the headlights work or the front turn. The rear lights work, the reat turn is dim when i use the switch but if i turn on the hazerds they blink fine (just the rear, still no fronts). The check engine light is on too, but when i plug in my scanner it turns on but then tells me to pulg in to the DL, so its not reading anything. Does any one have some input.

Try checking the fuse for the cig lighter. It is on the same circuit as the DLC. As far as the lights, I would try checking grounds and make sure all the harness plugs are connected.

OK so this is what i got so far...... I found that the car was hit in the front and there is a bunch of plugs that r not connected but they dont look like they r for the lights, they r on the right side under the car. Ok When I turn on the head lights the dont come on and the left turn light in the cluster comes on and stays on . I checked the cig plug it has power and the fuse is still good but DLC has no power. the car runs great. And not sure were the ground is for the lights? thanks for the help guys, I really like the car and hope i can get this all fixed.

if you havent found out why the headlights dont turn on, try replacing the light switch thingy,. (to turn the headlights on) i had to do that in my blazer because the DRL's came on but no headlights, replaced the lightswitch, and the headlights came on

ya I did put the new headlight switch in still the same thing

OK so I started to check wires. I have 12 volts at my driver lights but only 8 votls at the pass, And i have no ground. So any have an idea were th ground goes too or the best way to fix it. I did put a new headlight switch in too. Thanks guys

OK well i found a spot in the harness that had a bunch of splices so i went down to the junk yard and i bought a new headlight harnes for 10 bucks . I then installed it and bam got the lights well the low beams I still have no DRL and only one high beam any thoughts
