hey guys, it's Krish here. just so you can get to know me, im 15, curretly in highschool. I got a '00 Cav with a 2200OHV w/ a getrag 5spd, alpine deck, JBL amps, JBL speakers, XPLOD tweeters and Clarion PXW subs (12''). i want to work on the performance of the vehicle now, gearing towards 300BHP N/A. i live near Standard Auto Wreckers so parts are cheap nd always in stock and money is not much of a problem. i'll probably be here a while nd i'll contribute all i can. See ya round the forum!

300hp N/A - Yes
300hp boosted - No

The easiest way for you to hit 300hp is to swap the the 2.2L Ecotec(the how-to is in the 3rd gen forum) and get Hahn Racecraft's Stage 2 turbo kit.

You'll have to check local pick and pulls. I picked up a spare eco for $250 off a friend. The eco you would want is in 03-05 cavalier/sunfires, those are direct plug and play swaps.

The 2200 head flows like @!#$. To hit 300hp you would have to have the head ported, custom cam, possibly rods and pistons.

The eco head flows better and can hold 300bhp on stock rods/pistons. Rods and pistons still would be a good idea because 300 is just about at their limit, but that would be all the engine work that would be needed. Ported head, turbo cams, etc will only increase the hp.

The 2200 bottom end has been pushed to 300 hp. Its just a matter of how long itll hold.

No, but 2003+ Saab 9-3s have a 2.0L turbocharged ecotec that we can use the manifolds and turbo off of. Search Saab turbo kit.

headers, CAI, nitrous... but I really don't think you will ever run 300hp on these 2.2 notechs

well if that has the ecotec, is it possible to just rip that engine out nd put her in the cav? and do i need to switch the tranny to work with the ecotec?

That's up to you.

Id suggest a parts car since youll probably be able to get all of the parts for about the same price with less hassle. Its the little parts that you forget when youre motor swapping thatll slow you down.
