Hey I have a 95 cavy z24 with the 2.3l in it and i was wandering if it would give me any performance increases if i put the H.O. cams in it and if its possible to do so.

You may get an answer if you post this in the right section. More specifically, the "performance" section.

its very possible to do so, and there are some very good performance increases from it. gives a nice sounding idle as well
the easiest way to do it is take the cams, cam towers and lifters from a donor motor and bolt them in place. only problem with that setup is you would lose your power steering. the '95 2.3 and the 2.4 P/S pumps bolt to the intake cam tower and run off of a hex drive directly off the cam. any Quad 4 pre- '95 is belt driven off of the intake cam and the pump is mounted on the head. you can swap over the pump and the pulley setup, but it may involve some grinding to the head, im not sure. most people who have done the swap have just gone without the p/s.
the best way to do the swap would be to take the exhaust tower, cam and lifters from the donor, drop that straight in. take your factory intake cam tower to somewhere that can bore it out to accept the 35mm lifters from the donor car, and to clear the cam. then you have to drill a hole in the end of the cam to fit in the Hex insert that can drive your factory P/S pump P/N: 24572945 (you also need a 47/64 drill bit). then you can just bolt on your factory pump and go.

it is suggested that to be safe, you swap over to the HO valve springs as well. they are stiffer and will be a safer option if high revs are involved (anything above like 7300). to do this all you need are the springs, and retainers and it all just fits together with your current keepers and valves. many have run these cams on factory valve springs without a problem, but when higher rpms are involved damage can occur.

but since you have a '95 i wouldn't honestly even do any of that. if you have access to a HO donor car, i'd just take the complete engine assembly and drop it in. its really that easy. the 95 is OBD I which makes swapping to an older motor while retaining factory computer functions much easier. and its a 30 HP upgrade, has better parts, and when modded right will make more power than the 95 motor can.

as stated, take a look in the performance section and search for 2.3 swap stuff, or HO cams, head swaps, etc. theres plenty of threads on such subjects. whatever you choose to do, there's still plenty of potential to have some good fun
