i have a 2004 cavalier in had a friend put in a cd player and he pulled the cd player out and cut the wires he got it working and it worked really good for about 6 weeks and then my cars gauges started messing up and and started working agin but then it would not come out of park so i had someone from a grauge come look at it and he unpluged something and now it will come out of gear and is driveable but the gauges messed up agin and now i dont have to push the brake to get it out of gear can u tell me what happend to it and how to fix

no it dont have on in at all now

there is a specific wiring harness that goes with our model. it's (if i remember correctly) about $80. if you didn't get that wiring harness, then SOMETHING is gonna be screwed up. drop down to best buy and grab that harness.
i think, but don't quote me on it, that Schosche (sp?) also makes one that's alot cheaper. of course this is wal-mart brand.
do some searching around, ask some actual audio guys (best buy and circuit city have PLENTY of them). lemme know if this works out for ya.

Pick up a harness for a Geo Tracker if you dont want to keep your door chimes. Theres a sticky in the Audio forum about it if I remember correctly.
