Gas Mileage
Wednesday, December 01, 2010 9:45 AM
calculated my gas mileage...
with the mods i've put in, i'm now getting roughly 375km per tank, working out to about 8.62km/L
or 11.2L/100km
does that sound correct or is that low?
I'm being a gas miser this tank and see if it helps...

do you have a lead foot? not trying to be a prick but if you do thats killing your L/100Km.. on my way back to toronto from bc i was getting an average of 5.6-5.8L/100km (all highway)
what type of driving do you do?

But I just didn't know if that's the only reason I'm getting such 5h1tty gas mileage or if (for example) my injectors were leaking???

That's beyond low. Holy @!#$. Stop driving it like a Lambo! lmao
It has to be more than just giving the accelerator hell that's killing your mpg (err... whatever the hell you call it).

Re: Gas Mileage

yea I agree
I'm thinking (hoping not) that my injector is leaking, as i've never drilled the 03 fuel rail for my LSJ injectors
Is there a how-to regarding this?

It could just be the fact that your "tuned" by trifecta........Its a mail order tune right? And they cant get things perfect for your car..but also the cooler weather, the lead foot all accounts to bad fuel mileage.

Re: Gas Mileage

Yea I do need a new tune... should've splurged and got a proper tune...
truthfully didn't know exactly what it was until I went to the place to get it done
But I've got a weird idle problem when my engine has a cold start too
It bounces between 600-1200 rpm and if I throttle, it sometimes stalls out because the revs drop back down below 600 :s
Kind of getting off topic... but could be part of my gas mileage problem if my injector is leaking

Well not to be a smart ass but maybe check under the hood and see if its leaking? lol..

If its leaking youd probably notice a fuel smell, and you should really get on fixing that cause it is very dangerous to have fuel leaking.

From what you say about how the car is running I can almost guarantee that its all in your tune. To give you an idea. For a while I was running my car off a 02 computer with the 03 injectors and my car was doing something very similar to yours. And that was on a stock car with a slight adjustment to he injector constant. Id be giving the guy a call and getting some tweaks done. Im sure that he would be willing to back up his tune and make some adjustments.

I have checked under my hood to discover that my exhaust manifold gasket is leaking so it makes it very difficult to try and smell for gas leaking from injectors
and I would get the retune if I could, but the guy who programmed the tune into my computer is now in edmonton and I'm in vancouver...

copper rtv silicone is your friend with the tsudo header

Re: Gas Mileage

I personally picked up the tsudo header and I took mine in and got the flanges machined down..... Cost me like 50.... Cheap insurance

why do u have lsj injectors in there to begin with? Id put my money on the fact your running incredibly rich w/o a proper tune.
