so the computer fell off my 02 chevy cavalier z24. as soon as i realized it was coming off i pulled into the nearest garage but when i went up their drive it bottomed out and ripped all the cabling and molding off with it. I scoured the local junkyards, but the best I was able to find was a regular 02 cavalier, not the z24. I pulled the wiring and we did some crimping... it didn't work. I guess it has to be a z24 but the couple i have found around here have already been stripped down to the frame. I checked some online used parts retailers as well ( insignia and rock auto parts) to no avail. It's starting to look like a dealership thing but I really don't want to pay their prices so is there anywhere else I might be able to find this part?

sorry, by computer I mean "engine control module". This is why i'm posting in the newbies section...

you probaly need a 00-02 z computer, the earlier ones most likely will give trouble (late 99)

The ECU you pulled was it from a car with a 2.4 (LD9)?

If so should work, but you might need to do a theft lock relearn.
