Firing order for 2.3/2.4 is 1-3-4-2. I think it's the opposite for 2200s, but don't quote me!
cylinder #1 is usually the one close to the timing chain. cylinders dont fire together. as cylinder #1 is on the power stroke, cylinder #4 is on the intake stroke
2200 is 1342...also i belive

Actually you and 97 Fire are both incorrect. 1 and 4, 2 and 3 share a coil. When that coil fires, regardless of which one is on the power stroke and which is on the intake stroke, both spark plugs fire. This is called a "Wasted Spark Ignition System".

^ Slight correction... one is on the power stroke when it fires (making power) and the other is on the exhaust stroke.... if it was the intake stroke, that could be bad

Sparking is not firing. There's a difference. I said Fire, not Spark.
So actually your incorrect too.
And the one fires while the other is doing nothing, it's 'between' exhaust and intake strokes.
When #1 is on the power stroke #4 is on the intake stroke, as 97 GT Fire said.
