Track didn't like me not running a switch, I have one, just never wanted to mount it. I have an Optima in the trunk......
The battery part of it is easy, but how would I wire it to cut the alternator? Preferably somewhere further from the alternator, as the S/C would have to removed to directly access it.
If I just ran it in line with the battery +, you think they would bother to test it? Or just make sure it's there? I almost might try that.......................
I knew the rules beforehand, so save me the lecture, I still passed tech
.
It just has to be operational somewhere on the outside of the car so that if anything happens they can kill the engine
^^ that is not what he was asking. I think it is just visual inspection. I have to do the same thing joe , they got on my case too about it being in the trunk and not hooked up to a switch. I wouldn't worry about it.

01 Z24 Turbo with a snail shaped power improver.
this is how it should be wired for it to work properly, you have to run a seperate wire right from the alternator straight back to the switch, otherwise it wouldn't kill the car when the switch is turned off...
i made a braket to hold my kill switch were the tail light goes, so when i go to the track i just pull out my tail light and put the switch in there
So I would have to take the S/C off to do this?
Haha, I hope it's just visible, as only the battery will be cut-off, because I'm not uninstalling the S/C to run 15's and 14's under IHRA guidelines.
Good call on the taillight thing though!
It really bothers me that factory rear mounted battery people have no rules, but because mine wasn't mounted back there from the factory, I have to take extra precautions, when it is held down better if not more securely than OEM located ones. Not to mention it is a dry cell Optima.
Biggest waste of time and money ever to make more intake options
.
i just had my cutoff switch last yr. where you take the 1/4 extension off and there it was, i only had it cutting power to the battery they just looked saw the switch and was like ok
R.I.P. Brian Klocke, you will never be forgotten
1/4 extension is attached to bumper, sucks.
How was your battery mounted? Box? Just j-bolts?
