Anyone know where I can get a set cheaper than say 230 shipped. This price is from summit racing. I cnat hook up for nothing at the track in 1st and 2nd gear and need a set of drag radials to fit my stock rims.
Tire Rack. Took me all of 15 seconds, infact it took me longer to type this than to find them.

Tire rack has BGF T/A's for $99 each plus shipping.
They give shipping quotes on there web site.

If its worth doing its worth over doing.
you dont nbeed to buy them online. just go to a tire store. i went to Bastian Tire in my town and ordered drag radials and they where in within that week.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Yea i know what you mean...its the same way with Summit racing....i can order something at like 8 pm at night and itll be here in the morning at my door. Great service. I dont need them for another 2 weeks so im gonna shop around for prices here and there. Right now my steelies are 15" rims so looks like im going to have to go get a set of 14" steelies for the drag radials.
BF Goodrich make two 15" tires that'll fit the stock 15" steelies. The 225/50-15, which has an outside diameter of 23.9" and a 205/50-15, which has an o.d. of 23".
All three tires will give an increased effective gearing. The 215/60-14 will give you a multiplication factor of 1.033 X your current gear ratio. The 225/50-15 will give you a factor of 1.046 and the 205/50-15 will give you a factor of 1.087.
For example, I currently have a gear ratio 3.43:1. I'm looking at getting the 205/50-15s. 3.43 X 1.087=3.728, or equivalent to a 3.73:1 gear ratio.
Of course you are running boost and a manual transmission, so you won't need so much efective gearing, unless you have like the highest ratio that came in the manual and an extreme cam.
BFG does have a 225/50-17 that has the same diameter as the stock tires.
Hey MadJack thanks for posting that factor table! I bought the 205/50R15 Drag Radials and knew that it must have improved upon my gear ratio, but didn't know by how much. I guess that effectively bumps me from 3:61 to about 3:93! Thanks again!

but isnt the million dollar question how much effectiveness does an improve of gearing have over the extra amount of grip. both are great, but to what extent.

I know changing my TC has made traction a much bigger issue. I want to get the new head built and next cam in before I try the tires. I've got to put more top end in before I consider more gear.
