I raced my 5 speed 2002, 2.2 OHV for the first time this past weekend. Just wanted opinions on how i did. my r/t could improve, im usually .5 or .6 when i race my bf's cobalt ss/sc but ive raced that on the track alot more than mine. we entered in the street elmination class and my first run against him i actually beat him. my dial in was 16.80 and i raced a 16.825 and his dial in was 13.7 and he ran a 14.0. but here are my two best runs out of 4 (i lost in round two because i ran quicker than my dial in)
i only have a CAI and Catback Exhaust, other than that, stock
Round #1
r/t - .704
60 ft - 2.310
1/8 - 10.752
mph - 64.26
1/4 - 16.825
mph - 80.27
Round #2
r/t - .905
60 ft - 2.299
1/8 - 10.712
mph - 64.37
1/4 - 16.786
mph - 80.09
get some decent tire on that thing, and get those 60's down.

when you beat someone in a civic people wine and make excuses
when you beat someone in a cavalier they pull over and check under thier hoods

let off the gas toward the end next time. or even tap the brakes
if you plan on doing more bracket racing. get those RT times down
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
yea... i wasnt quite sure what i was going to run, and i didnt wanna be doing that if i ran slower than what i thought. this was the first day ever racing the cav, and i had two practice runs, which i got ahead of my self during and found out my cav actually can get wheel hop. haha. so yea ive only raced 4 times on the track so i was pretty happy with the times considering what i have
Not bad... as far as i know thats the second best i've heard of for a first time track visit on an OHV with only an intake and exhaust.... I forget exactly what PJ had his first time out (I think intake, and maybe a mount ot two.... possibly exhaust too but that was more than two years ago and probably 100+ track visits ago, so i'm a little fuzzy). He pulled a 16.7 or so if i'm not mistaken.
A pretty good start man, now start keeping tabs on all the great OHV threads over in the performance section and help to make it faster

its no problem!
I appreciate the comments.
i was pretty happy with the times. im used to 14.4's in the cobalt ss/sc, last time i raced it when it was stock. now its runnin 13.8's with the 2.7 pulley and 40lb injectors. but for the cav it was satisfied hehe
R/T ... .754

my 100% stock cavi
our time slip is kind of the same lol
Yea pretty similar. You beat me by a lil bit
Nice job. And thats completly stock? i know i could have gotten a better launch too. The 16.7 was a pretty good launch but still bogged down a tiny bit after i fully released the clutch. It was fun. Dont know if ill be taking her back to the track for awhile though.
My bf looses his licence in a few days for 45 days so im prolly gunna be driving his cobalt ss/sc again for awhile. Im sure hell want me to race it too hehe. Ill be happy if i can beat his 13.8, which i know the car can do but that 13.8 was with wheel spin through third gear. He uses HP Tuners to tune it. And turned off all traction control which gives you the 60% power gain in first gear that you lose from factory tuning. Cant wait to test it on the track
not to chaby congrats.... my 2200 with the rsm charger prolly still didn't do that good ram blows goats with avengance
Sorry...

yea. i suppose i could have shifted faster. i mean, i didnt do true power shifts but i wasnt 'granny' shifting either. thats all i can think of. and do you guys shift into 4th? because i just about hit my rev limiter if i stayed in third. i only did 4 runs and it was a few weeks ago but i think i shifted into 4th each time. that could be why too.
