i do, well i did last year, i only made 1 race this year b/c of work. but next year im tryin to make em all
Sweet! Is it fun? I regularly watch Sportscar Revolution on Speed and they really push SCCA hard
Chris
all the freakin time!!!!!!
www.scca.org. Find your local region and go autocrossing. For $20.00->$30.00 you get to flog your car around in a safe environment and beat people with "faster" cars.

I hope to make it down to the Packwood National tour event in Washington sometime soon. I know I'll get my ass absolutely handed to me, but it's still fun to run against the best

me...autoX for now, will try drifting in the future....
Iamrascal said it best!
the day i ran better times than a local corvette driver with a large mouth and less driving skill... kinda solidifies the slogan.
I've ran in 1 event and had a blast, it was a ton of fun
I'm a member and participate mainly in AutoX events. Some open track days etc.... There are also a few other members of JBOM who do the same.

Closest SCCA one for me is $60 (including r/t ferry costs) and 60 miles away
Nearest one is $30 and 42 miles. But I agree on the flogging part <evil grin>. Must find way to kill more body roll (but that's for another post)
SCCA: almost monthly
Autocross is seriously good times. Munch on tires. Yum.
Still split about 50/50 between the J and the Fiero.

Sleeper style, they don't see it coming that way.
I compete. Cavalier and a Galant VR4.
I dont compete in SCCA obivously since i'm up in northern Canada but I do AutoX and I manage to beat some slightly cocky/loud mouthed people, I find it fun to beat them. Its great to see their face when they see me launch out of the start box and hear the S/C whine coming from my car, LOL
.
I auto-x 'ed at the Detroit Region SCCA Memorial Day Event here in michigan. it was a good time. alot of nice cars.
the coolest thing was the go-karts with 125cc and 250cc engines, goin sideways thru every corner, they were hella-fast.
The shifter cars? I've always wanted to drive one of those. Don't think they'd carry big big arse, though.
Yes, Auto X rules. Gone to a few events, but like Liquidfirecavy, only been a few times this year, cause of work, getting ready for an open track event this month at Mid America Motorplex, close to Omaha. Having a guy with S2K's ask what kinda car that is cause it's "damn quick" is a hoot..............I love it.

There's a small group in Bellingham... Not SCCA though.
i went to plenty of the wny-scca sanctioned solo2 events this year, also 3-4 out of region events.
i ran pretty good and consistent to take the sts class trophy this year.
pretty good for being a rookie this year.
auto x kills brain cells!!!
What's autoX?
Lightweight honDuhs can kiss my fat Crapalier a$$
A new autoX ride for '08.....
Its this thing where they setup these orange lookin things and ya gotta go vroom vroom around them and not hit them or something. You should try it.
Go Go OG Traction!!
lol, i do love my auto-x, nothin is better than beatin loud mouthed vette drivers by 2 secs.
also one event, this little kid said "daddy thats your car" as he pointed at me in the grid, the guy was like "yea it is, i dont know what hes doin here", then after the run the guy came over and told me that there was no way a cav could do what mine had just did. i was all like, its the driver dude not the car!
hopefully i'll have my suspension for this coming year
I have a question.... I live just NW of chicago, the chicago SCCA region is a ways away from me, its not in chocago its actually an hour + south of chicago, and the Milwaukee region is about just as far of a drive for me. Next year I'm gonna be a member... do I need to be a member for both Milwakuee region and chicago region? Or does membership count for all SCCA?
i autocross all the time. I get a ton of comments like "I've never seen a sunfire driven like that one." I got complimented by the driver af an elise last sunday. It's a good time
darkstars - as far i know the membership is good for all of the SCCA so if any region gives a discount for members then you can use it, but you do not actually need a SCCA membership to participate in most auto-x events, but i would verify that with any local regions just to be sure

I knwo you don't HAVE to be a member but pricing is $20 for members who pre register, $30 for members who register on site, and $40 for non members... I would love to save 1/2 price on all the events but I don't knwo if you have to be a memeber in each region or not
