First time running my z, pissed but not surprised

Well I ran my car for the first time tonight, not impressed at all but wasnt realy expecting much. Heres my runs and mods can be found in my profile.

First run: Im not even gona list my slip cause I ran a 22.29 @ 87.41; the guy in front of me asked me to go in front of him cause he wanted to race his wife behind me so I went in front. The tree lights were out on my side and I thought they were gona pull the next car up to race so I had no idea what was going on, then the guy just said go. wtf? I just got my car about a month ago and I need to do a tuneup which Im gona use mobil 1 oil and change my trans fluid since my trans shifts a little sloppy. I have a shiftplus on the way so that will help with that

Second run: I stalled it up to like 2k and raced a talon so I had a tree to launch with
r/t: .686
60: 2.379
330: 6.742
1/8: 10.285
mph: 69.69
1000:13.346
1/4: 15.947
mph: 86.89

Last run:
r/t: .702
60: 2.326
330: 6.645
1/8: 10.207
mph: 69.51
1000:13.278
1/4: 15.890
mph: 86.42

Auto cavs realy do suck at the track cause my car def runs better on the street. Ill prolly go back in a month or so and by then I should have a shiftplus, lo manifold, and a 50 wet shot.

Thats what it should run...my eco has a full exhaust, crank pulley, and motor mounts and only managed 15.639@88.11

Thats not to bad. It was a second faster than my auto 2200 cav that had a lower mount, intake, and tb spacer. I wanna get my exhaust, new intake and what not done to it. I would like to be in the low 16's if possible.

I ran my 95 cavy(2.3L) for the first time ever at a track. i was a little disappointed, but not really suprised either. Considering my Car is 100% stock,AUTO, Has a system in it, and a broken motor mount!! Either way i still beat the 4dr civic that had prolly 10G's stuck in it. So that made my night. But this is what i ended up running...
R/T 1.0300 (SLOW, but being my first time at the track)
1/4 17.300
MPH 77.00

uh.. yea i hate to break it to ya but if you're slow at the track.. you're slow on the street.

just keep practicing you'll get better the more seat time you get.

my auto eco ran a 15.75 with only a ghetto intake and upper and lower motor mounts. Factory everything else. (ie tires, suspension) I think I can get one more tenth out of it with a better launch too

Well the reason why I say my car seems better on the street is because my friend has a neon r/t and ran a few 15.1's, which if you figure a car length is .1 of a second he beat me by about 7 cars. I know street racing isnt accepted here but when we race outside the track he doesnt beat me by 7 cars.

Im also dead even with my friends 02 ecotec who has all the same mods as me except he has a ttr upper mount and shiftplus, when we raced I didnt even have mounts. He ran a 15.6 with catback, header, intake, and 60mm tb, then got the mounts and shiftplus and thats when we raced.

My car seems to just fall on its face up top, and my auto seems like it shifts sloppy as hell, so I think my shiftplus will help alot when I get it in. This might seem dumb but whats the best way to launch an auto cav? I was stalling it up to 2000-2500 but it seems but I was gona try just going from idle.

Oh and biggz Im bidding on a lo manifold for realy cheap, and theres no ho's in any yards around me. All the real ho manifolds I find online are around $100 or so, which is more than I wana spend. Im gona dremel the tb side to match my 58mm tb also.

PJ I agree with the guy auto J's suck at the track. I know J's that can run with me on the street but can't come close on the track. I have always said auto J's unless boosted or juice suck.

Still could times truly for your car.

Juice is coming soon and boost later on in the year, along with many other things

Your runs are pretty good as far as I'm concerned for an automatic. However, it confirms my thinking that exhaust mods either hurt or do very little for times. My auto 2.4 ran a 15.9 with just my intake & upper mount insert. You've sunk a lot more $$ into your car, I'd hope to get some sort of time out of it.

Yea a full header back exhuast prolly hurts my lower end, but it helps more up top which realy doesnt help when your only going 1/4 mile. I thought my 60' times woulda been better with the mounts and stalling it up, but I guess I need some good tires.

Yea I know its a complete PITA but I might do a built eco/5spd swap and turbo it far,far down the road.

Im only 17 right now so no cards yet, but Im kinda scared to get one considering Ive done my mods within a month of owning the car and i dont even have a job lol.

getting the upgraded parts are cool, but unless your really good with your money and can pay your credit card off pretty quick i would advise not getting one...just save your money and buy parts that way....only reason i say this is because my friend did the same thing and is now about 3-4 grand in credit card debt and it was all car parts.
im just saying think heavily about it before you do it.

I know I was kinda joking around about the credit card thing. I do have a few realy good jobs lined up for me though when I turn 18 so Ill have alot more money flowing in then, but alot of that will go towards school. I just got a new job now so Ill have a bit of money to do more modding.

I realy want nitrous

This years CC spending has got kinda out of hand. I have one of those County jobs that pays decient ($xx.xx) < -- thats two numbers left of the decimal per hour. There are a three guys that im after, and if you read this, yes its the 2 that are ahead of me in the top 10 list and one other name F _ _ D Thinkin about $2500 spent or pending so far and one card to go, he he he he. (Pistons, Rods, Cams, Valve Springs, GM Cam Gears) think thats all for now. WILL go into the 13's this year! The Shoot out will be fun, hope the new motor is ready by then, may just need some tuning

Thats all for now, keep ya posted

04 ls sport 4dr auto..16.7 with same mods as in profile n 17 inch wheels (16s now)...seems to me this is way off...unless the 2dr cars are ALOT lighter...ive seen posts on here claiming high 15's from similar mods to mine on 2dr cars. well alot of them have headers too..maybe thats it...i dunno...just seems to me this thing should be faster...even if just a couple tenths..
