First results for this season eco s/c intercooled

My objective was 14.0 and I got...

Reaction .065
60' 2.058
1/8 9.048
1/4 14.083
MPH 99.746

so I'm extremley happy !

I made 16 runs, my 14.0 was my third one. the rest was many 14.2s, and after awhile one of my intercooling hoses got loose and spilled all of my dexcool on the ground, so for the rest of the day I was basically unintercooled and my traps went back to 97 instead of 99-100...the best I could manage from this point on was 14.4s...

The new mod this time was the intercooling, it made a huge difference of about 2-3 mph, which is I guess 15-20 hp.

Next mods to come are engine and trans mounts, LSJ header and full 2.5" exhaust..., hoping to get well into the 13s...

nice times!

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

Nice job The intercooler def makes a difference. I'll also be testing water injection at the track in a bit

ohh, it works very nice, my charger's housing would get cold, like 50 deg. on a 90 deg day.

Looking to see it live in person pulling the first 13 sec passes. Deep in the 13's will be a piece of cake with the full exhaust line.

Good job Fred. I guess I'm now next to put some S/C numbers down.

cause wouldnt your engine get really hot and your runs would get worse and its bad on your motor mounts launching so many times

not really my runs don't get worse... and besides of course drag racing is hard on the engine, anyone who goes there understands and accepts that...
not sure about the mounts, but mine will be swapped for solid mounts soon anyway...

Uhh... no.

And there's this thing called "seat time". Its what makes you a better driver/racer.

Dante, me and Skwirl's buddy runs 13.5's with the intercooled charger and stock exhaust, you can do it mang! I've gotta admit, after driving the beetle for so long with its instant-torque-spike-of-doom, I found it really hard to adapt to driving his car at the track... Thos linear powerbands are a lot trickier than I thought they would be!

thats his car page in his registry, he hasn't put the new slip up yet but his 13.7 slip is up, still worth comparing to.

that's a great 1/8 mile time he has... tells me I've gotta work on that 1-2 shift probably... seat time is definitely necessary as I only went to the track twice with the s/c and drag radials...

I'm pretty sure I let off the gas on the 1-2 shift unlike the 2-3 and the 3-4 (forgot just because I'm not used to not letting off the gas when shifting yet)... It might have been a 13 if I had kept the gas to the floor the whole way ! My objective for next time is 13.8...
