For a while now...
Wednesday, November 21, 2007 10:19 AM
For a while now my friend has always been yappin away on how his car's have always been faster than mine.. and how we have a close matchup ( I think )

me = 1998 Cavalier Base - 5spd
- 2200 OHV
- Injen intake
- Pacesetter header
- 2.25" exhaust all the way back
- Cat Converter delete ( O2 simulator )

him = 1998 Pontiac Sunfire Vert - Automatic
- 2.4 DOHC

now I'm thinking he has more weight from the convertable and having power everything and I'm lighter because I don't have any options at all. My best quarter mile is 17.2 before the header.. but with the intake, and me being an unexperienced drag racer.

OHV lol, 17.2 lol

IDEA! Go to the track and find out, if what he says bothers you that much.

My money is on the Vert.... I'm guessing by at least 2 car lengths.

Either way... just go to the track and make sure someone that knows how to operate a cam corder is there to tape it so wee all can see.

If you friends car is completely stock, im guessing it would be a very close race, and you might just beat him.

wow 17.2? thats slow even for an ohv..

have you checked compression lately?

I was going to side with the OHV, but.. I'm gonna have to go with the vert on this one

Yeah, you might want to check the compression, especially if its been running conventional oil.

I was about to say you would have a chance until i saw you ran a 17.2. I ran a 16.7 stock a few years ago at the bash. Like everyone else said, go the the track and find out.
