Im starting in on my stock unmolested 02 z24 5spd with the 2.4 i want to make a run at the track for a baseline for my upgrades in the future. what has everyone gotten for a stock time? i want something to shoot for. just seat of the pants feeling i really think i could run a 16 flat.
when i first got the car I ran a 15.7 (I dont recall the mph) at Gateway Raceway in STL
well it had a cone filter on it..but other than that it was 100% stock with 112k miles...i got the vid somewhere..i may try to post it up in the future
I went 15.9 stock in my sunfire automatic 2 door.
thats pretty damn impressive if you really pulled that off
i know theres guys on here that have spent plenty of money and were barely into the 15's
yah very true. driver makes a
big deal. my brother ran a 14.2 with a bone stock redline. 4 year old tires with plugs in them even
My husband ran 15.2 in a manual '01 2.4 with a WAI & motor mount/insert. I ran 15.9 in an auto '99 2.4 with a WAI. Not stock, but close.
15.3 With nothing adding horsepower.
16.01 in a 2003 auto sedan eco bone stock
15.43 at 89 with a 2.3x 60foot. Only thing that wasn't stock was a act clutch and aluminum flywheel.
97 Cavy 2.2
I know a stock Gen 2 Z will run a 15.4-ish with a manual and someone that can launch/shift.
2010 Honda Fit LX
i ran 15.8 best time this weekend in my 1997 2.4 auto. i only have a poly upper mount insert and suspension. ive got an intake, 4-1 header, full exhaust, and B&M shift plus ordered and it should be here tommorow so im hoping for low 15's.....if im not satisfied im going to start looking into a 50 shot of nitrous (dry) or a budget turbo setup. i started a thread about peoples opinion on what i would run and got told id probly run mid 16's so im pretty satisfied and feeling victorious!!!!
Start looking into a 50 shot...
PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
ya i want too im just worried about damaging the motor. its my dd and i cant afford to have it fall apart on me. i might do it anyway though as im not bottle happy or anything just wana use it every now and again on the track, maybe only a bottle a year. i really cant afford any ignition mods or engine management either so im worried about that also.

If u say ur gonna run a 50 shot dry on a 15 year old motor again I'll e- slap u. Look into a wet kit. Even that's really pushing it on that old of a motor
ya i hear your not supposed to do that sort of thing lol im thinking about buying a used ld9 and building it for a turbo setup to swap in after i get another car to drive. i think id rather have the power all the time then every now and again.
must be nice in low altitude. in high altitude in N.M my cousin in a bone stock 02 z24 ran a 16.9. in my car 01 z24 with intake n exhuast at the time i ran a 16.6. but now i have a intake header downpipe n full exhaust n now HPT im hoping in the low 16's to high 15's
My stock 02 ls sport with 5-speed cut a 1.9 60 ft and 15.46 @ 91mph. motor was bone stock and car had coil overs explaining 1.9 60 ft
I ran a 15.6 1/4th in my stock 98 Z with 140k miles and busted ass stock suspenion and still cut a 2.0 60ft.
My 5 speed ran low 15's stock (15.25-15.3)
My Auto ran mid-high 15's (15.7+) with a few bolt ons (cat-back and AEM intake)
