The car is a 2001 Cavalier Z24, and I need help with the gas tank. It needs to be moved into the trunk, and I'm not sure what to do with the filler neck. I haven't taken the tank out yet, but I'm pretty sure it won't fit with the filler neck attached. The race is next weekend so I need to get this done. Has anyone done this? Any tips? Thanks for the help guys.
You need to purchase a fuel cell, do not put the factory tank in the trunk.
Very unsafe if the car flips over or receives major damage its highly likely a factory gas tank will rupture. Its a safety thing, we've enduro and circle track raced for like 20 years. I've never heard of taking a stock gas tank and mounting it in the trunk very very bad idea. Fuel cells are'nt that expensive. You can run an inline pump from a What can't you run it in the stock location?
