built a new ln2 motor and put a couple of shims behind the relief spring in the oil pump. pressure is up to 85-90 cold and at rpm. is this to much? hot idle(if you could call it idle) it is around 35 with 15/40 oil.
Same motor, mine is about 18psi full warmed (summer now, colder days was around 25psi), Cold idle is about 70psi.
WOT high rpms is about 65 when warmed up...10w30 non synthetic oil..
Someone told me under 11psi you should start to worry, and don't quote me on this, but the stock oil light comes on at 7psi which when that light comes on you should shut off the car and pull over.
No that's the light that tells you you're already @!#$.

I was always told you need 10 pounds of pressure per 1000 rpm's. As you know when it's cold it will run a little higher but I'd say you are running way too high oil pressure and high oil pressure isn't a good thing like you'd think it would be.
