Running an '02 Cav in UCAR circle track racing... have to run 14" oem steel wheel, currently on a 6" wide wheel. Curious if there are any 6.5 to 7" wide steel wheels that would fit the Cav?
Broke the center out of a wheel racing this weekend, so thinking I'd try to upgrade the replacement.
Thanks in advance...
Keith
Guy at our track said the neon wheels are thicker and stronger.
yes they are thats what i run on my sunfire
yes they are thats what i run on my sunfire dodge neon wheels
Thanks, think I'll check into it... can't have catastrophic failures like that very often! Would really love to find some 7 inch wide wheels for sure.
Appreciate the info,
Keith
Older Caravans also have the thicker 14 wheel, thats what I used to run. not sure how wide they are
If you can run aftermarket wheels, both mrw and basset make a great set of wheels that will not blow out in the center,
cost on them aftermarket?

I would try running aluminum wheels. I know it sounds stupid but I've broke the center out of 3 steel wheels and since I went to a aluminum I haven't had a problem
i'd recommend an aluminum wheel as well... from my rallyx days, i've seen too many guys actually have lug nuts pull through the steel wheels. they aren't made to handle the kind of forces dirt tracks can exert on them.
