i woke upto go to school i noticed my hood was popped and the battery was gone. The doors were both locked and i dont know how they popped the hood unless u can pull the release somehow from outside maybe?
lol wow, I've never heard of someone getting jacked for their battery.
I think the older cavs you could stick your hand underneath the hood, pull the cord, and open it up.

Yup, '99 and older for sure. Thank goodness too because my hood cable rusted through and I just reached between the hood and bumper, yanked the cable, and woolah!

95+ Cav's take about 2 seconds to pop the hood..... reach your hand between the hood and bumper and pull the cable. The '00 put a "Guard" over the cable to make it harder, but it doesn't really slow you down (all it does is hide the cable, but if you know its there......)

plus that little guard is PLASTIC with push is tabs
I've heard of that happening before with car lots. But never to an actual person.
But yeah, we used to be able to get under the hood of my buddies 96 sunfire by getting under the front and getting ahold of the cable.

wow thats @!#$ty watch now ill get my new battery jacked i guess ill have to chain it to the frame haha
I could see with a battery like an Optima. Stealing one is cheaper than paying $200
I dont know what to say to this....
Now that the question has been answered, can someone delete this post? Just one of those things that the less people know about it, the better.

A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?
I put a small piece of razor wire behind my latch...
If they're going to try touching my car... good luck!
eh, i went the locking hood pin method.
lol@ lenko. That is a good idea.
Thinking a theif knows a thing or two about breaking into a j body, leave it to lenko to show them what is up.

That is the best idea I have ever heard.
My original idea was to somehow rig a boxing glove (or pie) onto a giant spring.... but this is less complicated.
I was going to say just go with the old cartoon theme: maybe a big jack in the box with a boxing glove to the face
