Gonna post this now because I'm 85% sure the car is a total loss.
This tuesday I was on my way to class shortly after noon, in the rain, got off of 255 and on to 157 going north (The exit rap coming off 255 is where I slid off the road last time with minimal damage). I was in the right lane doing a little less than then the speed limit and a wagon deiced to pull out in front of me, so I had to change lanes. In doing so I guess I hit a patch of water and it sent me spinning, I must have done a 360 on the road and went nose first down a hill, and into a parked car. I had my both my feet on the brake and it didn't do a damn thing.
The front end is smashed up real good. The drivers side headlight disintegrated, the carbon fiber hood is toast, my radiator is screwed, the radiator support bar is toast, possible frame damage to the front right, not 100% sure on that though, my battery appeared out of place, the air filter on my intake looked screwed as well, and my air bags did not deploy. The car did not want to start so I got it towed to a body shop near my house. Some good points, they sent a flat bed and it didn’t appear like they were going to charge me extra (I have AAA but the tow truck guys told me asking for a flat bed would cost me extra), the glen carbon police that responded was hot
, I wasn’t sited or given a ticket, and the big one I'm unhurt.
On with the pictures

I'm probably going to post stuff local if I have anything to sell *shrug*. The roof is not removable, and besides you probably don't want it anyway.

The air bag sensor is near the passenger side headlight so I'm not surprised that they didn't deploy.

I have to weight the facts. My car had 90 thousand miles on it. Even if it can be fixed is it worth fixing? An engine with 90 thousand miles will probably soon develop major issues. Just a few days before the accident I replaced the valve cover gasket, and I needed to get around to replacing the water pump gasket. The front of the block looked caked in oil from somewhere. *shrug* I think I'm better off taking the total check and using it as a down payment toward a new car.

Yes, but as I said to my father when he came to help me at the scene of the accident. I'm done. I'm tired of worrying about having my car keyed or paintballed when I go to see a movie. If I can get a car that I can be content with from the start, the want to modify won't come on as strong. Of course I will probably still do small stuff like tint (I think it's a must
). And I don't want to get another cav, because I'm afraid the cycle will start all over again with 3/4 of my body kit, and my wheels still in good shape sitting in my basement.

Ditto, plus the tails, you wanna sell those as well?
Sorry to see it banged up, it was a sweet looking ride
I'd say from the looks of it, the skirts are still in good shape as well....
Good luck on the new car.
dude... that sucks...
I remember your car from the bash my condolences =\
at least you're alright...
Wow, Im sorry, that sucks. And it was a awesome looking 4 door also... Good luck with your new car though!!
sorry to hear jnight!! i loved the 4 door golden machine
Sorry to hear about that, I liked the looks of your car a lot. Glad to hear you are unhurt.
By the way, airbag systems are designed to work in more of a frontal impact area that is more centered on the car, a corner impact might not always set them off.
That sucks man, always thought you had a great looking 4 door.
gonna have any parts for sale?
OMG! NOOOOO I feel your pain. I would be cryin for months if my car got wrecked.
If you have any parts for sale let me know. I call dibs on the wheels! Thats if your going to sale them. Man! I'm very sorry to hear this. I just wanna go cry now. *sniff* *sniff*
The wheels weren't on the car at the time of the accident, and I've already put them on my new Scion tC Link.
All the parts that I do have for sale are for sale locally for another 5 weeks, then I'll be posting stuff up in the classifieds here and on ebay. With the ammount of people getting ripped off I want to make sure that when I do start selling and shipping parts that both me and the buyer are protected.

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
You damn near nailed that pole. Thank your lucky stars, man. Best of luck with the tC, and I hope you stick around the forum. You made a lot of progress. I'm sure you'll do the same with the tC.
In eternal remembrance...
