driving home from plowing all night (started last night at maybe 12, just finished now)... going around a corner, VERY VERY slow, i started sliding.. reefed on the ebrake to get some more control, and BOOM... snowbank vs cavalier = snowbank wins......
get out, @!#$ myself... bumper hanging off, hood release popped open so much snow in the bumper, god dammit...
some pics....
i dont know what im gonna do now.... i have my stock bumper in the basement thats going on in a few mins... but for the summer? dont know... hopefully i can find another z24 front, so if anyone knows of one please let me know

You don't smash a bumper like that going SLOW.
its called slow down when the wheather is bad
I see your intake pipe in the fenderwell; hope you didnt suck any melted snow up or anything. Did you lose your filter or did you take it off?
Damn dougall... that sucks.

Depending on how cold its been, the polyurethane bumper could have become less flexable and caused that damage. Quite possible.
Sorry that happened man. I would really be trippin balls if that happened to me. It doesn't snow much here though.
its -30 outside before wind chill.... the plastic is very brittle...
and no the intake is fine... i have the filter up in the engine bay for the winter... im just too lazy to take the pipe going to the fender since its a bitch to get in/out
after looking at it up close (took it off and threw the stock one back on.) it maybe looks fixable.... thers 1 major crack maybe 2 feet long.... depends if the body guy can fix the 2 pieces together... he probably can, he fixed my wings west rear lip when the guy i bought it off melted it from his exhaust (gm show car my ass! lol)

I am still curious as to WHY you would yank the ebrake when youre already sliding to gain control?

to try and swing the car into some open road other than snowbank.. if i didnt do it i probably would of hit it straight on and did ALOT more damange including air bags

good thing there weren't any real Z24's made in 03 + so its easy to get an LS bumper brand new just go to ebay
Could've been worse...you could have fell asleep and flipped your car numerous times into a ditch...oh wait, damnit.
Lucky that's all that it did. Bumper damage...meh it happens. Goodluck with it

but if youre already sliding in 1 direction on snow or ice you cant gain traction to change your angle by creating more of a sliding effect....
correct though all you did is re-direct the damage... but yanking your ebrake was not a way to gain traction to 'swing" it in another direction...

no, but when i pulled it the back end swings out to the driver side causing it to hit the side..... granted the rear tires only moved like a foot while sliding, but that foot saved the rest of the car including my face from the airbag lol
