my new winter car

02 bugeye. got one hell of a deal on it. car came with an aem intake and a stromong axle back. so far i put a set of stock tails in it (had a set of altezza's), painted the wheels (which will need to be redone come spring), and put hella bulbs in the headlights and fogs. i've got some plans for the car but so far, it's been a blast to drive.

not bad for a winter/daily driver huh?

Looks good. Congrats on the new car. I'm thinking of getting a Subaru for a new DD as well, STi though. Can't go wrong with AWD in our climates.

I agree, altezza's are bad enough. They are really bad on the WRX because they have such large tail lights. I'm jealous because thats what i'm looking at buying when the time is right. Of course i'll be in Florida when I buy one so weather wont have much to do with it =P

Nice buy!

Nice choice.

I actually plan to pick one up next year to tinker with. It all depends on if we trade-off the LGT for a G35 (for the wife).

I personally like these headlights. They really take away the bling-bling of the OEM chrome headlights.

These are the cheapest on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-03-SUBARU-IMPERZA-WRX-BLACK-CLEAR-HEAD-LIGHTS-LAMPS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33710QQihZ006QQitemZ160058347958QQrdZ1

This Ebay listing has a good picture on WR Blue:

I would also pick up a set of rally flaps, STi STS, and STi Lip Spoiler.

Good luck and enjoy the snow.

thanks guys.

kevjam... i actually plan on picking up a set of black housings and a set of the cf blinker covers to get rid of the amber side markers. car will hopefully be spoilerless if i can find somebody on nasioc that wants to swap trunklids. i haven't decided whether i'm going to do rally flaps yet or not, but the car will be getting some suspension work and such done.

Not hatin on your cavalier or anything, but ditch it. Make this your 13-12 sec daily that looks better and drives better.

just my .02 other wise sweet winter ride for sure

it's also gonna be slower than my summer car...

i'd rather build my cavalier. too many built wrx's running around. not just that, 02's aren't known for strong tranny's.

strat is right the trannies in the bugeyes arent that strong at all and you can have a lot more fun in the awd dd then you can in the cav so keep it dd.

Is any WRX known for a strong tranny? My buddy already killed one in his '05 and he didn't abuse it all that much, just a couple trips to the track.

BTW no matter how much money poured into a Cav, a WRX with the same amount poured into it would be a much wiser investment! To each his own though.

Yeah, you're going to lose money on the Cavalier sooo much faster than you ever will with the WRX.

I don't care what you end up doing with the cav and subie, nor do i give a damn what everyone else tells you to do with either. I have seen your cav through a few different staged, and I have liked it all along, wether it is performance or looks, you know how to mod cleanly. and i say keeping AWD for daily driving is the wiser choice. I have been a Subaru fan my entire life, and it's nice to see someone with a VERY good taste in cars and modding pick one up. It definately has a good home!

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

I just bought a 20 inch widescreen ultrasharp flat pannel..I'm going to have to subscribe to the high quality porn places now......damn

please tell me who mods cars to NOT lose money? seriously... i don't mod any of my cars with the thought of how much i can get out of it. i mod them to fit my tastes.

personally, i'd rather build a slow car into a decently fast car. the wrx will see some mods but the cavalier is still gonna be my car of choice to spend money on. i've got 6 grand into it already. why the hell would i want to start from ground zero on a 4 year old car with 77k on the odometer and try to build something show and go out of it?
