This is my sisters boyfriends Malibu project, he put it up for sale, but I think he should keep it!

Cool, I would finish it and run the balls off of it.

I think he will have a hard time getting $16,500.00 out of it though.

He's 31, but he's an old school guy, he knows his carbs though. He tuned the Authentic Shelby Cobra Replica cars when he was working at his old shop. I asked him the same thing, but I know it would run more than perfect when all is done if he doesn't sell it.

what the hell is srong with carbs

Because while carbs may do great at outright power, they're not so great at doing that AND providing good driveability and all-weather performance. And from what I've seen, they don't typically get along so well with pressurized air flowing through them. Its why most of the force-inducted carb setups you see are draw-through and not blow-through.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the motor and setup are amazing, and the guys that really know their stuff can still work magic with tuning carbs (although its rapidly becoming a lost art form), but its never going to match the all around "turn-the-key-and-go" performance of an EFI system.

If I wasn't poor, I'd buy it and deck it out like an old cop car lol.

I think he did it to be different, and to show he could. He was going to run 20psi+ if he finished it, 1500+whp and wanted to keep it as much of a sleeper as possible. Was going to run it down Woodward, hope he finishes it!
