neon help

ok, my sister owns a 96 neon dohc 2.0 auto, and i'm tryin to get it back on the road for her.(it was gonna fail inspection in january, so we didn't even pay to get it tested for it, lol!). now, i'm really into cars, but i haven't even changed my own oil yet, in fear of breaking something/doing something wrong, but i do learn fast. i plan on getting a haynes manual for the car, and i know it needs front and back brakes, and lines, and the windshield is cracked and the seal has been leaking for the last few months. now, the engine used to stall like a mother effer whenever she was at a stop sign/red light, unless she put it in park. i seafoamed the engine, and it seemed to stop the stalling(i love that stuff!), but there still seems to be(always happened) this black liquid spewing out of the exhaust...what is that? it just kinda spritzes out little bit at a time, but no car i've ever driven has done that before.

also, her abs light is on....no clue what to do about that...guess i should just have it scanned?

thanks guys!

The black liquid is just a water/carbon mixture. Unburnt fuel leaves a black carbon residue behind and the water in the exhaust just cleans it out.

Just get rid of it. We had a 95..and that thing had some many issues, it wasn't funny.

When the "lights" go on, it can be fun trying to figure it out (scanner doesn't always help) I can look past pretty much everything else (including the headgaskets), but the elec issues are a PITA....
