looks and sounds good, but I don't think they should of used the name firehawk for it.

Has GM not learned that pimping out nameplates from a glorious past vehicle will get them no respect? Yes the G8 is generally a nice car, but "firehawk" belongs next to "firebird". Blasphemy...pure blasphemy. I'm waiting for the Aveo SS next
On the bright side, the performance numbers look great, but too bad its the wrong car at the wrong time...
Thats not a firehawk, its just a holden commadore SS suped up by SLP

Too bad you can snag a new G8 GT for under $30k, spend $7k on a TT or a Magnuson SC kit and make just as much HP for much less.
yay another overpriced GM piece of plastic
what is this? coming straight out from GM?

You are correct.. but alot of the R and D was done By HSV .. i dont know how SLP can say they developed this kit...

The whole idea of an affordable 4 door V8 was pretty stellar. I'd just simply by a vette for 50 grand. This will flop for certain.
As for calling it a "FireHawk", well, GM really doesn't have much else to loose in all honestly.

Bring back the grand national!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im sure GM will just slap a buick badge on the new camaro and call it a GN...
Wouldn't surprise me
if they did a turbo 3.6 direct injection make it black and boxy, @!#$ id buy it that would be badass
the rwd performance car market is prob the most crowded now as its been in 40 years, gm sure isnt going to develop such a thing right now either, but maybe someday

I'm surprised there isn't one. It would be a pretty easy build. A 2.2 from the HHR (the VVT one) with a few tweaks to the suspension, SS stitched in some two tone seats (black accented with the exterior colour) and four wheel discs. Slap a $15,000 price tag on it, and you have an Aveo SS. I admit, it's a terrible idea for a car, but it would beat the snot out of a Yaris, Fit or Versa.
2010 Honda Fit LX
nice car but definitely not worth the asking price
From what I understand, SLP owns the rights to the name Firehawk. I don't know how much of a say GM has in the naming of the car. I don't think they really care. They just see it as a few more sales they can make. I don't think it's right at all. SLP is just out to make money by reusing a successful name. Hopefully it blows up in their face. I always thought SLP's stuff was kind of expensive anyway.
Saw it on the Powerblock this morning.
I agree with the consensus, that is the wrong name to use on this car.
gorgeous car minus it needs to lose the chrome ring around the windows and some new tail lights
Lanman31337 -F = fatties = do not want. A little chunk in the junk is ok though.

not really its a g8 that u can get any color/ interior opts u want from the dealer and have it sent to toms river nj to slp for the conversion or save 500 and order it straight from slp n pick up at slp in toms river nj or have sent to your local dealer. still way to over priced for that sedan.
I find it sad and dissapointing that GM seems to have learned nothing from their near-bankruptcy financial crisis, even after they were given gobs of money.
In no time flat amateur internet forum-goers (no offense guys) effectively pointed out all the reasons why it will not be a success, and I gauruntee you will all be right. Why on earth can GM just not learn?
just to point out gm is NOT the ones building this car they just ship out a g8 to slp in nj per the customer buying it and slp modifies this. as far a gm goes all they deal with is just building the g8 and sending it to slp instead of the dealer just like stillen, saleen, etc factory modified cars. so if this doesnt take off slp is the one gonna take th hit not gm they would just see the g8 regular then.
Its a very nice car... A little over priced tho, is my opionion. But that doesn't even matter cuz i heard yesterday, that GM may even be pulling the plug on pontiac. So we "might" not even see this. Don't quote me on that, it just something i heard yesterday after noon when i was at the pontiac dealership.
2004 Turbo cavalier 11PSI and blown!
If gm pulls the plug on pontiac, and slp only builds a few of these that asking price is going to be chump change for what this car will be worth down the line as a collectors item.
