my cav is fun, and onc ei start modding, it should really be fun, haha!(waiting till i get to school for all of the serious stuff...wanna make sure i do it right). but i think i want to get a little rwd car to have fun with too, and also, so i have something to drive while the cav is being worked on. thinking....240sx...what do you guys think? if i can find one that hasn't been modified, i shoud be able to pick one up for pretty cheap...found a 700WHP 240 SX! on ebay for $15, 500...suck me...don't want someone's elses modified crap...lol, just something that was maybe beat up a little, and needs some work, and once i'm done with the cav, i'll really tear into it.
found one on ebay for like $500..runs, but the driver light motor went, and has no carpet., and front bumper is held together by duct tape...PERFECT, RIGHT????
opinions wanted!
get a talon like i did lol
well, i really know less than nothing about any imports, but i wanna get a feel for what an import can do, so i don't want a crappy one...so, why talon? a few ppl on here have em, why did you guys choose em? what to look for when getting em?
1. the talon is technically a domestic not an import.
2. the tsi is awd
3. the 4G63T motor they use is almost identical to what the evo's use thus alot of support for modding.
4. tons of potential in the 4G63T
5. and lastly there just so damn sexy haha.
as for what to look for. if you can find a tsi that would be your best bet. if not do what im doin and get a base model and swap the 4G63T into it lol. its simple enough
hmmm, def like the response. thanks scott! well, what years should i look out for, or avoid? i'll start searching. thanks! research begins!
doesnt really matter there all sweet i prefer pre 95 but thats just me
lol, so i'm finding out that a cheap one(under 1500) isn't easy to find...there was one on ebay, but it was an automatic...
still not completely sure if i want rwd, or awd...but the next car will def not be fwd.
my advice... decide what car you want to mod and stick to it...
as a person trying to mod multiple cars it is NOT fun. LOL
as for dsm's, you'll be lucky to find one that hasn't been beat to hell for cheap. (at least that seems to be the case in my area)
if you can find one for a good price jump on it. a 90-91 eclipse, laser or talon they have 6 bolt motors in them. also these years are more likely to have a 4 bolt rear end or eprom ecu compared to the 92-94 with the 7 bolt motors. of course a turbo model would be nice but if you can find a nice mint 2.0 nonturbo manual you could grab a turbo system and ecu off a junkyard car and run 12-15 psi with a step colder plugs, and 2 wires ran to your ecu plug. itll be decently reliable and quick.
i bought my 91 awd shell with rear end, driveshafts, and manual tranny, spare block and stock turbo for $200. threw a junkyard motor and harness in. strapped a 16g mated to a hafe racing cast S.S. mani with tial 38mm wastegate, ported/shaved intake mani, 3in o2 housing and down pipe, no exhaust system. has just about 300awhp. my harness has problems but thats because its a 93 auto harness with abs and theft lock. i just need to grab a new harness.

QFT!
I'm keeping my 09 Sunfire as my DD since I have a @!#$ ton of parts for it if something breaks, and then picking up an 09 Scooby.
hmmm....well, for now, i need a second car for when i am modding my cav, and i just figured i would get one that i could have fun with later on...nothing to play around too much now though...if it needs repairs, thats one thing, but no fun parts (
...)for a while in the second car...still not sure what to get...
