VW has a similar issue right now. All the new body Passats with V6 engines (battery in the trunk) have a recall for the battery cables. It's great the cables are copper, so once we take the old recalled cables, strip the shielding, and take it down the street to the scrap metal place. 10 cables will get us about $85..... mix that with Buffalo Wild Wings $.50 huge leg Wednesdays and we have free lunch for the shop every Wednesday till the recalls are all done..... I <3 battery cable recalls

Haha that is awesome...

And at least they caught it early. Only 300 cars with this problem have been sold, not bad...

You would think this may have been caught in the 4 or so years of R&D and the PEP through GM.

I'd still buy one in silver though if I wanted a car.

X2. Seriously, they caught it right after they hit the dealers? How did they not catch it before?

Is it just me, or do a lot of recent GMs have this problem? My parent's Uplander had this problem, a co-worker's (lol) Optra had this problem, as well as several other people I know that bought newer GMs (can't think of who at the moment, but I know other people had the same problem). You'd think they could have identified and fixed this sort of thing a few years ago.

You know whats weird, is that when Chrysler of all things went to trunk mounted batteries... I don't think even THEY had a problem with this... And if Chrysler can do something better than you, that's saying something...
