Deer lease vehicle?

For the first time in about 3-4 years I'm getting on a lease. IT's a small plot of land, only about 100 acres. BUT, the brush is thick and if it rains there's going to be a ton of mud..nothing deep as there's lots of rock in the area too.

What I really want to get is a car and make it into kind of a rally car. I don't even know where to start though and a big issue is budget. The car will be an offroad only car, it will stay up there for the season and then be parked at my dads home in offseason.

Any ideas? Can it even be done? I really would like to stay away from a truck or something like that..we've done that too many times. I really want a different experience..something fun when it's nasty out.

theres tons of older 4x4 on Craigslist that are not titled but come with a bill of sale, those make great lease rigs.

You can get a 4x4 for around 500.00 in San Antonio

Get ya and old cavy wagon! But some nice meaty tires on it, and you will have plenty of room to carry all your hunting stuff in it.

I would grab a Subaru Impreza. Then as the budget allows build/buy a turboed engine and other "junkyard" upgrades.

What about an old amc eagle 4x4 wagon, an old subaru awd, or one of those 80's toyota/honda 4wd wagons?

Probably the easiest and cheapest thing to get would be a trashed jeep, bronco, or blazer.

For some reason I'd like to have one of those 80's AMC eagle sx4's or wagons.....

Those old eagles are junk, you'll run it once then everything will go out.... get an old/older Suby Impreza or legacy you can get them cheap usually on account of them being horribly rust ridden most of the time.

Just do a lot of weight reduction. Take out the a/c compenents, rear seats, trunk lining/ rear floor lineing, so on. You could even take out all the glass and rear lighting and stuff... i wish i had the space/area to have a place to run something like that around here. :-(

Well, after quite a bit of looking and a LOT of phone calls...I settled on an old Dodge Ram. It's actually pretty decent. There's a little rust on the bed, but nowhere else. I'm going to repaint it flat black. Probably going to register it(it came with a title), use it in the summer as a beach truck and a lease truck in the winter. Win win as far as I'm concerned. The pics make it looks like there's rust on the doors and front fender, but it's the old paint coming through from the previous owners rattle can paint job.

It's an 85 4x4. Plans thus far include taking the bed off and making it a flatbed. Also paint and maybe a little engine work.

What kind of deal did you get on it? I'm digging it.

Eesh, don't know if I got that great of a deal. Paid 900. He had receipts from maintenance for the past few years. Had just replaced the fluids for everything, had new lockers, new radiator, hmm..something else new too I can't remember. Oh, the tired were new too..he even had warranty on them. It runs great with no problems whatsoever, aside from no AC. Other than that it's really a decent pickup....

It also came with a free condom that was under the seat. So overall I feel like a winner. Even better it was unused!
