Auto Headlights & DRLs Disabled + Independent Fog Lights - '09 Vibe GT

I did these two "mods" over a month ago, but never bothered to post pictures until now. I figured what the hell.

I hated the automatic headlights, DRLs and the fact that the fog lights would only turn on with the headlights, so after reading and hoping and praying, I finally came across instructions on GenVibe for how to have full control over all the lights. I was scared to death of messing with the wiring on a brand new car, but everything turned out fine and I now have full control over all the lights!

The bulbs are all regular Sylvania Silver Stars (9145 in the fog lights, 9006 in the low beams and 9005 in the high beams).

I know to most people this is not a big deal, but to me it was the one thing that kept me from being 100% satisfied with the Vibe. Also, because it is so new it is not as simple as disabling the DRLs and such on a J. I was very proud of myself that I did it without screwing anything up considering I know almost nothing when it comes to wiring.

I picked up my winter wheels and tires today ('07 Toyota Camry 16" steel wheels wrapped in 205/55/16 Kelly Explorer tires). I still have to get lug nuts for them and than they will be going on once we get our first snowfall. I will post pictures once they are on, although the poor Vibe is going to look so ghetto .

In the spring I will be painting all four calipers black and I will be officially done with the Vibe!

Be sure to check out my Car Domain page for tons more pictures. Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

umm those arent fog lights , fog lights are yellow/amber in color

they are driving lights as they are white in color , also some states have laws on when driving/fog lights can be on , and having low beams on only with the driving/fog lights , and no high beams with the driving/fog lights

alot of it is stupid , but be sure and check your local laws about it

other wise pretty cool , and im surprised you messed with the electrical , lol

they are fog lights, just because they aren't yellow or amber

the position is what helps see through fog not the color

Although the wavelength of yellow light is advantageous to penetrate fog. I have 3000k fogs and 6000k headlights.

And they are awesome.

Well, I consider them fog lights. Always have, always will .

As far as the laws are concerned, I'm not worried about it. The amount of time that the high beams and fog lights are on is very minimal, so the chances of me being pulled over for it is next to nill.
