i installed a pioneer HU using a fast harness, in a 03 bravada 2wd with bose package. the HU works fine its brand new, theres just no sound from the speakers at all. anyone encountered this in envoys/trailblazers/bravada? or wtf is going on.
I think its just the Bose being a whore in general. Ive heard of that kind of stuff happening with the Grand Prixs running Bose.
Im not even sure how the amps are wired up in those systems. Im willing to be you arent hooked up to the amps some how
my guess too, anyone care to elborate
what wiring harness did you use? Bose has to use a special harness because the speakers are connected to amps and the have to be turned on. Also if it has on star you even more screwed. you should be using the
OS-2Bose GM Bose/OnStar Radio Replacement Wire Harness when replacing the factory stereo with an aftermarket radio. It cost abou$80-$90 and still retains the vehicle's OnStar and Bose amplifier system. If you dont use this harness the radio will not work properly. The OS-2Bose uses a Data Link Controller chip (DLC) that is specifically designed for connecting to GM's Class 2 data bus, This harness will also keep the warning chimes (some cars might require the CM1 chime module)
Also if you have the steering wheel controls a steering wheel interface will be needed if you want to use the steering wheel controls. This adapter will not retain the factory XM radio, rear seat controls and headphones, or rear seat DVD if equipped.
My cady has to use the GMRC-03 harness which is about $90
