Not really surpriesed. Escalade customers expect it to be more than a Tahoe, the Aveo is a POS, and the Colorado is a rebodied Isuzu. Isuzu used to be a good product but went downhill in the early/mid 90s.
what are they compairing these cars against? Like what does a Mercedies or something get score wise? One thing I have learned from marketing is you can make anything look bad or good depending on what you compare it too.
That list is a bunch of crock lol.
all made in north America... what a surprise

You said it all.
I have spend some time in various escalades. They are actually quite nice to live with. If you are expecting a dressed up pickup.
Most buy them for the wheels.
meh. a biased slant eye probably did the voting.
All I want... is a little of the good life
LOL. Consumer Reports strikes again! I cancelled my subscription years ago. They should stick to can openers and TVs, as automobiles are way out of their comfort zone.
Nothing new here.

isnt CR the ones that found the Samurai would roll over easy, if subjected to test conditions that no other vehicles were subjected to (because it was designed to make it roll over) and that the side tanks in GMC trucks would explode in a side impact.......if a flare was lit under neath it right before impact???

I believe the GM trucks exploding with a flare was NBC, but point very well taken.

They have been developing a reutation for complete smear journalism where cars are concerned, yes. I don't know specifics on the cases you mention, but in general, CR's automotive escapades are really destroying their long-standing good reputation for unbiased, concise reviews. They are cheapening their brand badly...I'd advise them to just leave cars alone before they sink their own ship.

what's sad is that the average reader doesn't realize these things. i had a business teacher who told us he never made a purchase without consulting CR beforehand, including his automobile. needless to say, he drives a Toyota Sienna.
Check out my build thread!

sounds like a sheep to me
yea, that whole read felt like a local Honda fanboy wrote it. and how can they test the reliability of a brand new car? it hasnt had the time to prove itself. hell, I'm sure the first gen Cavaliers were rated as poor.. so explain why my '85 Z24 had 400k miles on it, and withstood burnouts, racing, off-roading, and mudding (I was 18 and didnt realize how fragile my car was "supposed" to be.. lucky me)
I dont really look into these reports that much, but did they really get scrutinized for things like rolling a Samurai and purposely making a gas tank explode?

Karma is the one law that cannot be broken. Toyota will continue to get theirs, and CR's time is imminent too.

Marketers believe the results of bad Karma are simply an opportunity for spin.

I stand corrected on the gas tank, it was a news agency that did it. I have not checked yet but from what I recall it was CR that made the faulty test to "prove" the Samurai was roll over prone.
I love how Toyota is still out-selling GM..
I always said I would rather have a car that can't stop, then a car that can't start. lol.

As long as they remaain willing to give them away with monster incentives, its not hard to boost sales and steal market share.
Selling product at a loss is not a sustainable business plan, however. The real tale will be told over the long haul.

and I suppose GM is GOD to you...
No, actually
all Domestics are GOD to me. It's kind of a Holy Trinity, this Big Three!
But, my opinions are finally validated by current events. For once, the media is attacking product other than domestic, so, the tide has finally turned. It's damned good to see, and well overdue.

So obviously you haven't seen them tell people to stay away from the Lexus GX460 then huh? If Toyota was god they would just blow it off...
Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
