spyder gs.......... i think... if it was a gst(4g63) i think he would of said
FWD 2.4l 7 bolt narrow block 4g64.... i haven't heard if they get CW or not.... great platform for a frag or street car....... 4g63 head and turbo are basically bolt on
if you want a good handling car a eclipse spyder isn't for you... alot of chassis flex

stock i think they're just under 150hp, the gst is at around 210hp, with the 4g63 head and turbo setup i think it would be around 240hp

Buy a newer car. Even though car payments are a PITA, it is nice having a car that i dont have to worry about what's going to break next. If you keep buying cheap cars like the Eclipse, you'll end up with another car like your cav. Phase 3 cavs are not that expensive and all the parts you have will swap onto it.

lol jew I was just looking around...

Thanks Kb, Tinkles I most likely wont' get a newer car cause I'm looking for a dd but also a project. If I get a newer car at all it's either gonna be an evo, or rx8 :p I can't pay insurance on either.

RX-8s are just as quick if not slower than an eco cav, but the handling is amazing. Also it is damn near impossible to change the oil filter on them, not to mention the rotary engine doesnt have the best track record. Im unsure what improvements the Genesis has over the 13B, but there is a saying - Boost goes in, Apex seals go out.

If you get a newer car as a project you'll spend less money on repairs and have more to spend on mods(assuming the car isnt a lemon).

this is of course if it's not properly maintained/tuned. and honestly, the renesis was, imo, a step backward. rotary engines have oil injection pumps, and thus consume oil. they do respond well to tuning and bolt ons, and even better to boost. oh yah, 20 MPG. highway. tops. but it CAN turn.

I still checked out the Eclipse....Kb, where did you see the leak? it was a terminal for the convertible motor...not the actual motor. The only thing wrong with it is the overdrive sensor. he says he'll take it for 1500, and I think I'm about to sell my car for 1700, so it works out for me.

Besides, it drives from point A to point B, which is already better then what my car is doing now.

Why do we even bother offering advice....

DSMs are either parked or broke. You are in for nothing but trouble.

We have been telling to you run away from that car. You never use a DSM as a DD and project car. Every single DSM guy that i know has another car that they DD.

A newer J would be a very smart choice. Lower mileage, reliable, mod w/o worry, you are already familiar with the platform, and because they dont hold their value you can pick up a phase 3 for less then a comparable import.

I defiantly not getting another J any time soon, maybe down the road as a DD for reliability, but not doing it for a while.

yup DSMs are one of the worst DDs i can think of..... still would trust it more then a ford or chevy on a road trip.....

the 4g64 is a way more reliable motor then the 4g63 though..... my dads 91 MM w/ the wideblock 6 bolt 4g64 has 120k and the ONLY problem we have had is the rad hoses got rotted out...... and it doesn't even get many oil changes.....
