My father in law and I just changed the plugs and wires on my truck, and noticed the passenger side manifold's heat shield was hanging on my a thread of one bolt.

Yes, I will get this replaced at my next oil change, but am I better to leave it rattling around loose? Or can I just rip it off? There really is nothing on that side it is close too, but though I better ask first.
