2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Review (3.8 &2.0t)

Im not sure how I forgot about the genesis coupe but oh how have I found it now... I am 99.99% sure my car searching is OVER!

First off i have been looking at more upscale cars like the 328,335, 535, is250/350, G37 Coupe and they all seem to have something missing. You know when your shelling out 30k for a car it, to me, has to feel perfect. And the Genesis Coupe has that thrill and excitement I have been looking for along with the luxuries.

This morning after work I called my local dealer to see if they had any in stock and i was told 2, one 3.8 auto grand touring and a 2.0 6spd Premium. So I hung up the phone and I was on my way. I got there and told them what I was looking for and jumped into the auto gt. From the minute I stepped in I was sold. I was expecting a cheap feeling interior but was I surprised. Had all the toys like bluetooth , push button start, heated seats infinity stereo. I start it up and the rumble that came from under the hood was way more then I was expecting. It handled like its on rails. Its a smaller car but it feels roomy and im 6'1" and had plenty of headroom

Anyways get back from the drive and im completely sold all it was missing was navi and it had a black exterior. I tell the sales guy I wanted to think it over and run some numbers and get back to him and he said well hey what about the 2.0. Im thinking I really don't want a stick for my dd with all the driving I do for work (i.e stop and go crap) but he kept pushing me to take it out. I tell him 15 times I suck at manual and he kept saying how easy it was to drive so I said ok and hop in and take off with him.

Frankly I felt so uncomfortable driving it since im not good with a 6spd, that I didn't get to enjoy it. I was too nervous about hitting something or stalling. But it was nice to feel boost Also the 2.0 does not come with the luxury items like the heated leather which is a must for me ( sure im a Sally )

But overall I love this car and I never say that about any automobile. Now since my condos sold, I just have one more mortgage payment and utilities then I can pull the trigger, maybe earlier if I move some money around

Oh boy

Learn how to drive a stick. Its Soooooooooooooooooooooo much better than driving an auto. Unless you are in stop and go traffic for hours at a time. Keep us updated.

I think in years to come this is going to be like Silvias and 240s are now.

The V6 has a great sound and the 2.0 is a stout engine sharing design characteristics with the Evo's 2.0L.

I agree Hyundai has been making remarkable cars for quite sometime.
If I were you I would wait on GDI expanding on to these cars. Word has it around here, it is coming soon.
Look what's happening.
