Nice ride man.....I still love that year Mustang! Buddy of mine had one in high school and damn thing was fast.
you should drop in a new 5.0.

I wonder how much more the new 5.0 will cost than the whole car, not to mention all of the extra fabrication that would be needed.
forget the new 5.0 and the old 5.0 (not even sure the new 5.0 would fit anyways). LS1 that bitch.

Hahaha... it would seem that the old 5.0 would be cheaper than all of the other suggestions and easier to get ahold of.... even though and LS1 or a 302 would be sick.
Wait I thought a 5.0 was a 302 that was made after the late 70's/early 80's.

I think you are right... because i'm pretty sure the 302 translates into 4.9 liters which is why they are calling the new 5.0 a "TRUE" 5.0.
I love my fox. I have to get the heads resurfaced and then it's game time. Motor and trans are for sale to finance an LS1/4L60 swap... I wanna go fast!
I don't need a @!#$ sig.
Im a fan (see profile). what are your plans?

Usually people refer to the 5.0 when talking about the 5.0HO that came in the mustang GTs and such and a 302 in the LO that came in the tbirds and cougars(?)
Kinda wha tI got from all of it. At least during the late 80s early 90s.
Either way its the same block.

right now im going through the body throughly paint it white or black idk what one yet than this summer im goign to drop in a carbed 5.0 in it but im having troubles finding a t-5 tranny and what all i need to do a aod to manual swap and idk if i can use stock gauges ot what but on the plus side whoevfer had this b4 me did a rear end swap out of a thunderbird whth 4.10 gears and pose has ssm rear suspension weld racing wheels and a few other things i feel it was well worth the 400 i paid for it
Looks like a very good deal it's hard to find clean notches for a good price.
I'd look around for a parts car for the swap. You can usually find a beat or wreck gt with a 5.0/ t5 pretty cheap
lol i swapped my T-5 for a built c4 and picked up .7 at the track. 14.2x to 13.5x
I thought I should add...
You can use the stock guages in your swap, but you'll need the speedo gear for the t5 and that one needs to match your final drive ratio. You'll have to swap the pedals too because the clutch pedal wont clear the big ass auto brake pedal. The yoke will fit the output shaft so your driveshaft you can keep. When I swapped my T5 out, I neglected the starter indexing plate/block plate. I thought it was an unnecessary expense. I bought a starter with a warranty after the first one broke the mounting tangs. I ended up breaking 6 more and had to go to several different advances around town before I could get the car on a lift and the trans out. Make sure you get one that fits your new trans..... Your stock crossmember will work just fine, all you have to do is dremel off the spot welds on the tubes and slide it to where you need it. Make sure you tack it back in place or it will vibrate and wear real bad. Trust me. I have full length headers and they fit the T5 and the c4 as well, so yours should work. Any questions, PM me
