Regardless, that is crazy. Awesome idea. Even though VWs reliability is at an all time low, I still love their styling.

Yeah you definitely just made that up, their current products and leaps and bounds better and more reliable then the past.
I have heard very few bad things about the new VWs.
MK4s on the other hand.. lulz
I am just going by family experience. I have several family members with 06+ passats and jettas and they are in the garage constantly it seems and my dad and uncle had several VWs from the 80s that hit 200k+ miles.
I know a few people with modded mk4's and stock mk4's and they need to be fixed quite often.
But I still want one!!! They're purdy.
I almost bought a GTI.... untill i saw that my insurance was going to be 260 a month and I could get a faster, and hella nice Cobalt SS with a ton less miles for a lot less money.
But man do i love a hatchback... or R32.... gawd the things I would do for one. Hahaha.
