so a friend is wanting me to do some work on there 96 Audi a4... (2.8l quattro)
complaints of sloppy shifting and loose clutch engagement
to solve this issue im sure your aware owning a jbody is stiffer mounts or solid mounting all together and a stage 2 clutch
having owned a 97 z24 that i had to unwilling give up....
after a few months of having a much stifer upper engine mount and dampened lower transmission mount and a b&m shift kit (automatic) i grew to hate how the car drove on the streets (harder idle, firmer shift points, launching off a line was almost immediat...) though all it took was driving my brothers 99 rs to remember why i did it in the first place....
is this every ones opinion of solid mount transmission or just mine?
the question being mechanically having a fixed transmission and transfer case running a stiffer pressure plate on a stock clutch cause any excessive wear down on the clutch its self or would i have to go full stage 2? i have never run a stage 2 clutch in any car with a solid mount transmission
(im sure there are a few sub questions in there)
