models with "i" are sedans ones with ci are coupes and convertibles.. ix are AWD sedans or wagons. also 328 has less HP then a 330.

XI is AWD

Also to add to this, the larger the last two digits in the model number, the more powerful the engine it has.

For example, The 335i is the fastest 3 series until you get to the ///M3

The 550i is the fastest before you get to the ///M5

and so on....

not always does the last two digits account for the motor size.. 323 bimmers were actually 2.5s

for the early e46s models
