Soo...I recently purchased a 1972 matching #'s corvette, with the rare 350 LT1, Muncie 4-speed, and 4.11 gears. It has the "Ontario Orange" exterior & deluxe saddle interior with the chrome bumpers, a big block hood, rally rims, & a rebuilt drivetrain putting out about 400HP & 400 lb/ft.
There were only 1,741 of these made outta the total 27,004 corvettes back in 1972. And the VIN # indicates it truely is a 350 LT1 with the 5th letter indicated by a "L". I purchased it from a collector in Alberta, who was the 3rd owner. He purchsed it from another collector in the USA a few years ago.
It has some minor imperfections but is still a nice car! Not to mention everything I was looking for at a pretty decent price. I took these pictures of the vehicle after looking at it this past weekend & working out a deal on it. I took posession of it yesterday.

4 lug wheel covers but 5 lug wheels underneath. Sleeper status yo...
Looks clean, but too me that is one of the worse body styles of the vette.

My personal opinion: One of the ugliest generations of Vette. Even if I did own one" Luggage rack, chrome bumpers, that interior AND exterior color would be deal breakers lol.
Now, my non-biased opinion of the car itself: VERY clean and looks like a good snag if you like them and got it for the right price. Though I personally would never shell out any kind of money for one, you like em and it looks like you got a gem.

When the guy delivered it on a trailer, he just through the floor mats in it, the gas pedal was underneath it.

though i dont see anything LT1 about the motor , other than a sticker on the hood , and for a LT1 car its missing alot of good parts and some hard to find parts
other wise its a sweet looking ray !!!!
and to those that dislike the rack on the back , there is about enough room inside to keep a pair of socks and a thong , LOL that room was for storage of the rear window if i remember a friends old 70 correctly

The block & head casting numbers match to the date of the LT1, its been rebuilt and "hopped up" so it doesn't look stock anymore. And as for your othe comment, yes there isn't much space behind the back seats, the luggage rack was mainly for carrying the T-tops when they were removed.

Personally I like the color scheme of it...and I got it for a decent price...its got 90,000 original miles on the odometer

Had it been a "K" it would be a base 350 , or a "W" it would have been a 454.

I think the chrome bumper c3's are some of the best looking vettes made. I had a 76 that was a fun car, but was lacking in the power dept.
I hope you enjoy the car and drive the hell outta it the way it was made to be driven. It's sad that most musclecars and vettes live pampered lives in climate controlled garages and are trailer queens.

Man I love the sound of a chevy small block. It's a '76 by the way. I love the smaller rear window. The bigger "aerodynamic" one from the following years is hideous.

it still doesnt look anything like a LT1 , the VIN doesnt mean anything with out the missing parts
the LT1 intake is about the best all around intake out there , and not sure what intake is on it , but its not the LT1 and holley carb, also the polished aluminum finned valve covers are missing , deep groove pulleys , chrome open air filter , oe dist , not telling what else is missing
the headers are a improvement , as is the msd bits if they went complete with it , the rest of the showy bits are just pretty items
now dont get me wrong , nothing with the way the ray is , it should be alot of fun as they should !! now a days resto mods are selling higher than original restored cars
