Just wanted ppl opinions on this car. Is the V6 worthy of being just as reliable as the ls2 in gt?
Are parts going to be hard to get other than exterior parts? What breaks on them?
Thank you

As soon as you get in the V6 G8, you'll end up wanting the GT. The GT has an L76 6.0l, not an LS2.
I had my V6 G8 for 6month, put 10,000miles on it. Traded it in for a GT. The 2 years later got the New SS. So I am on my 3rd Red Holden Commodore in a row. Love the cars.
I did have the Timing chain in the V6 replaced shortly after buying it, all under warranty @ 52k miles.
What's the best mpg you got with the GT? What motor is the 6.0? Someone on a site said ls2 so they must of been misinformed.

Also what other cars are on the same platform as the G8? Ps thank you for any info you have.

The G8 is a Holden Commodore - The VE Commodore which is built on the ZETA platform. Same Platform the 2010+ Camaro is built on.
The G8 was built in Elizabeth Australia.
The 6.0L engine in the G8 Gt is the L76, which is still an LS Based engine. But not an LS2.
The L76 is rated in the G8 GT @ 361hp/385tq - I believe the LS2 found in the 6.0l GTO in 2005-06 is rated @ 400hp/400tq
With a 93Octane Tune and cold air intake I averaged 24-25mpg on the highway in my GT
The Gas Mileage from the V6 3.6l and the GT 6.0l V8 are rated from GM as only 1mpg less on each category
If I remeber correctly is was 21city/25hwy for the V6 and 20city/24hwy for the GT
It is still a 4,000lb car, so the V6 has to put in more work to get the ball rolling. Also the V6 has a 5speed Auto and the GT has a 6speed 6L80 Auto.
Hope that helps
.
Thank you and yes it does. Just looking for a bigger family car and have alway wanted a Pontiac and something that will last many years.
