Well i've been looking into some all motor tunes for a few weeks now. if i keep the compression right around 9.5:1, will i have to turn back the timing for these mods listed? The air/fuel will be fine tuned but im wondering about the timing. So far this is what i have laid out. DC sports header, patriot stage 2 head, SMG 62mm throttle body, comp cams stage 2 cams, AEM cold air intake, GMPP cam gears, 2.5 custom exhuast, eagle rods, JE pistons, MSD DIS2 ignition, NGK plugs nology wires and MSD blaster coils. im trying to avoid HP Tuners, cause im waiting for the Haltech engine harness to get finished. any help appreciated
Truly no one can say for sure. Usually all motor likes a little more timing than stock, but every build is different. Until you get it built and datalog you won't know. How will you tune A/F while waiting on Haltech?
FU Tuning
Well I have another air fuel controller that im using, it has a built in 2 bar MAP sensor and over 600 points of tuning and a nitrous controller. Im also getting an MSD DIS2 so when the nitrous sprays it will retard the timing enough and not make the engine go boom.
