Im bout to install cams and tune my car with an HPT file from another Eco that has already been dyno tuned for his cams. Its the same cams, same engine, same mods. The only difference I can think of is that he is in Hawaii and i'm in Texas, therefore his dyno tune would probably be a bit diffrent than if I were to dyno tune here. I of course dont have much experience with messing around with the tuning, so my question is...
Are there enough diffrent factors between our two enviroments/engines that using his tune would not work with mine? And can you tell me anything that would need to be changed slightly to make it run better, based of the info I have provided?
(Note, I am not looking to reach the max amount of power i can get out of it right now, im just trying to make sure it will run right after I get finished with the install. I am going to get it dyno tuned to get the most out of it later.)
I've been told that there are small differences in each car that will affect the map needed for that particular car. Even if they have the exact same mods and everything else is the same, you can't assume that the tune will be the same. I fully understand that, however, I just want to know if I can tune it with the temp tune that I already have until I can get on the dyno.
Thanks shifted, I was hoping you would say that.
