Hey guys, i just installed everything for the turbo, now its time for tuning, what should i do?
What im planning to do is read the PCM then open it onto my laptop, then license my hptuners, then start editing, but i dont know what to edit...
I know i have to edit the VE table and fuel constant, do i need to fake a 2 bar? my turbo is wastegated at 7 PSI...
How do i edit the VE table and how do i calculate fuel constant? I really need help, i read alot about tuning but i still dont understand...
Thanks!

Shifted can you tell me all the different parameters that i need to edit in order to get the turbo running alright?
All i know to edit is the fuel constant and its Injector Constant = Old Constant * (Old Injector Size / New Injector Size)
What is VE table? Do i need to fake a 2 bar?
Thanks shifted..

I have to say you bought HPT and all your turbo stuff, but had not idea how to get it running right before installing it??? Really come on now. There is plenty of info about faking 2 bar maps. Also info about tuning VE tables. Also HPT has help files with explains more about that the different fields are for. If you do not know what fields adds fuel, then you should not be messing with HPT.

You have a slight point. I have no problem with people that have plenty of money and pay people to build a fast car. Hell if I could I probably would. I know people who build there own motors, turbo set-up's etc.. than take it to be tuned, or get help, but they know ahead of time they need this.

Yeah I guess... For me, the fun IS doing it myself. To each their own, totally, but I think you miss out on a lot of the good stuff by not being involved in your own build/mods. Maybe he'd benefit from hiring an HPT "tutor." I know a lot of guys are willing to get paid to show you the perverbial ropes of tuning.
regardless of all of that you have to give him props. hes 17 years old maybe 18? but regardless, being 19 myself and knowing what its like to get into boosting cars at a young age you have my full support in what your doing. I also have hpt, find my aim info and ill help you out and if I cant then I can help point you in the direction of a few others that are more experienced that me but I can help you along since i too have hpt and was having the same isssues as you only a few monthes ago with boosting my car.
Hey thanks guys.. im only 17 and I like doing everything myself.. believe it or not, i pieced this entire turbo kit myself and i did ALL the work except the exhaust and the downpipe.. i have the money to have someone installing everything for me but i would rather do it all myself so i know what is in the car and where they are at. thanks vega i would love to get help from u but today im going to put the gauges in so i wont be by my computer.. can you post some info here or PM me? that would be so awesome!

tuning isn't easy. experience is key.
the window of failure on a boosted car is very small.. thats why i started to tune mine before i boosted it.
By the sounds of it he means the chances that you could possible ruin your car is very likely if you're not sure what your doing.

each car's is different, you need to do a read entire and that will reveil it.
I dont know what to do with the VE and PE tables...
So far my tune is stock except i changed my fuel injector constant from 0.17800 to 0.10171 and changed it from really rough to really smooth..
I know i have to modify my VE and PE tables but i dont know how...
I have a Turbonetics T3 internally wastegated turbo with 42lb/hr injectors, HKS SSQV BOV, 2.5" IC piping, 2.5" downpipe and 3" straight pipe exhaust.
I dont have a FMU so i dont know if tuning is gonna be harder..
Help me please!!!

Im trying to change the idle VE and low rpm VE and make it idle smooth and good, and then im gonna use my Wideband and tune the upper rpm's
Am i doing this the right way?
Thanks!!
Oh also if you have a turbocharged Ecotec can you please let me know what you changed your tables to be now to run good?
Oh and 1 more question, what do i do with the spark advance? What is and how to retard the spark advance? Isn't this the PE table?
Any help would be APPRECIATED!!!
