HPT Pro datalogging set-up's
Friday, August 17, 2007 7:30 PM
I have been playing with my set-up for datalogging. What things are you guys watching? I'm trying to set-up injector duty cycle, but can't get it to work. Has anyone else figured it out? Thanks for any suggestions.

You have to be logging RPM and Pulsewidth for the duty cycle to work, its a calculated PID, not one the ECU supports.

Thanks for the info. I'm still having issues. I can't get injector pulse width or injector duty cycle to work. Can you give me any pointers. I have read the help file as well. I'm sure I'm setting it up wrong.

use sensors instead of PIDs. check your logging settings and chart settings

Sorry for the bump, but I don't know how the heck to get Injector Duty Cycle to work. Can anyone tell me exactly how to get HPTuners' VCM Scanner to give me some values for the duty cycle in the chart/gauges that I have? Or maybe send me their config file so I can figure out how you did it?

Thanks, lol.

Give me your email and I will send you my config file. I have injector duty cycle in it.

Even with your config, no activity on either Injector Duty Cycle gauge/chart or for the Inj Cyl 1 (msec). Hmm..

Hmm, have you tried looking at the Table view? Primary (not the gauges view.

Oh, nope, had that closed. I'll go check now.

That is the primary. Any changes you make (like adding a sensor to watch) needs to be done on that first, then added to the gauge view. I have had it log on that table and not on the gauges table for a while, not sure why.

Got it working, hehe. Also set up a boost gauge that read's accurate based off the MAP - barometric pressure to decimal places, like I always wanted. And I have a Fuel Economy gauge working that gives you instant miles per gallon so you know what driving technique achieves the highest fuel economy.

How exactly did you set it up to read boost? I have yet to get that working. I'm also interested in this MPG thing you did.

Well you just set up the function so your User-Defined "Boost" parameter reads the MAP PID and subtracts the BARO sensor from that number, and display in PSI.

Boost:
[SENS.30]-[PID.2340]

Fuel Economy:
[PID.13]/((((((((58-([SENS.30.IMP]-14.7))/43.5)^(.5))*30)*([SENS.112]*[SENS.70]/1200))/100)/6.3)*4)

The bold 30 is the injector sizing in lbs/hr. This equation might be inaccurate, I haven't really tested it much yet. Got it off an Ion Redline forum. I'm pretty sure it works right though. Any ideas or tweaks would be nice from those who know wtf they're doing lol.

So does that mean we need to use the injector size we are running? Meaning if you have stock injectors use 24 instead of 30?

Yup. I'ma have another look at that forum post over on the Redline forums and make sure everything is set up correctly because I don't have it all understood exactly how it works, heh.

could anyone pm me the config for the duty cycle. Thanks!

You just have to enable Injector Duty Cycle and Injector 1 Pulsewidth in your main table, then it'll work when you use it in any gauge or on the chart default.

Just tested out the MPG gauge, works well, seems accurate to what I've been getting by driving certain speeds. Funny to let off the throttle when going like 50MPH, your MPG spikes to 130+ heheh.
