hp tuners question cant figure out

hello everyone, i have a 95 ohv motor that i am going to do a repin on the ecu so i can use hp tuners, hp tuners is going to sponsor the car, but before he will ship me the unit he needs to know the " serial number of the interface" what is that , i dont know too much about hp tuners and need to read a lot but wondering if any of the good tuning guys out there can help me out.

thanks
jason

you can't repin a 95 to be newer. A 95 has only about half the sensors of 96-up.
You would need a 96-up engine, engine harness, body harness, fuel tank, vapor and fuel lines, charcoal canister, and then some.

I seriously doubt HPT has any need or interest in sponsoring you.

Moreso, your question indicates exactly that because...

The interface IS the HP Tuners unit. Therefore, the serial number is on it (which they seem to have) and not on your car or in your possesion.

Well I have a 2 plug harness on the ecu and a odb-2 plug under the dash and was told by a few people on the forum that you can repin the harness if its got 2 plugs and not 3. As for the sponsorship believe what you will, since i have not ever worked with Hp Tuners I have no knowledge of the interface or how to tune the car and as reading it as of now. I cant go to a 97 motor because mine is already built and i have received too much stuff from companies to do it over again. If i have to i will just do the megasquirt system and call it good. If you have doubts with the sponsorship you can email Jay Payson as he is the head of the sport compact marketing department @ jay@hptuners.com. Have a nice day! And if you cannot leave your attitude out of the posts then please overlook my posts as there are many other people that can give advice and will do so.

bye bye

jason

Your info and supplier of that info are mistaken.
the 3 connector (OBD2 and its 2.3 auto only) processor is repinnable to 97+, the 2 connector (OBD1) is not.
The "2 plug" idea is mistakenly taken from the 95 - 2.3 and 96 - all having 3 PCM connectors and they are not HPT compatible. The HPT issue is with the PCM with 3 connectors, not the wiring. 95 - 2.3 3-connector PCMs have all the correct wiring and sensors you would need to convert it to 97-up.

You haven't worked for HPT... correct, but the person who you claim to be asking for this info does according to your claim.

Not my problem.

You can't handle HPT and you think Megasquirt will be easier???

How about if I just call him instead? You do have his phone #, don't you?
I do. The last 3 digits of it are 624.

No, attitude and BS debunking is the cost you pay for the advice.

Doesn't look like it.
