i am buttoning up the rebuild and boost, a few questions

1. i have 2 wiring plugs at the rear of the block by the egr and they are both 3 pin harnesses and i know one goes to the injector harness, where the hell does the other one go? the scary part is that they both will plug into the fuel injector harness, i skimmed through the service manual and couldn't figure out what i missed that it would plug into.

2. where is the electrical plug for the evap purge solenoid and what colors are the 2 wires that are on its harness or what sensor is branched next to it, also what happens if i eliminate the purge noid and carbon canister?

3. for the stock intake temp sensor, how to i get it into a 2.5 inch stainless charge pipe? just use that drill bit and pop it in? wont that give me a boost leak in the pipe?

thanks everyone
jason

the only part i can help you is to use a camaro iat sensor because its a screw in type. do a search on it in the performance forum.

Are you still using the '95 wiring harness, or did you swap it out ?

What color are the wires on each of the two three pin plugs?

harness #1

blue
tan
this harness apprears to be the injector harness i think

harness #2
black
yellow w/ stripe (black)
green with stripe (green stripe)
this harness comes off the trans harness

and where the hell is this purge harness?

thanks

Sounds like you found some of it.

The Evap. Purge Vale is on the back of the engine, between the ignition module & oil pressure switch. It has a two wire plug w/ pink & grn/wht wires.

I found the cams position sensor (CPS) harness, but the others I don't see on my schematics.

My injector harness shows 5 wires (Gry [inj. common], Blk [inj.1], lt grn/blk [inj.2], pink/blk [inj.3] & lt.blue/blk [inj.4]). The '96 & later models used SFI (hence the need for CPS), as opposed to the "95 & earlier used batch fire injection.

The only things I see that use ylw/blk are the 4sp tranny & fog lights. The tranny should have more than 3 wires though, unless they are broken down into multiple plugs. I didn't look that deep into the fog lights, since the plug shouldn't be in the engine bay, but the fog light switch in the passenger compartment.

I'll see what else I might be able to find later.
