hey everybody ive posted my progress on my hpt tune in the repository finally. i have a 2.2l ohc ld9 motor, not an ecotec. 2002 motor. its been torture tested pretty well so far for my setup and runs well and feels safe. my odd spark timing works well and comes from the s-10 2.2l tune file. my wastegate is set 5 lbs right now and shares the line with the evap port (pre throttle plate)
tune is rich still im at 220-230 miles per tank vs 340-360 pre turbo.
my setup:
factory throttle body and intake manifold
factory cylinder head
older year 2.2l hybrid cast iron/steel exhaust manifold converted to turbo log
garrett t3 turbo 43/68 a/r /w internal wastegate
custom built 2.5" downpipe
2.5" high flow cat
basically 2.5" from turbo to tip mandrel bent
top mount intercooler /w modified ram air hood
factory fuel pump
bov valve
disabled factory fpr for constant pressure
3800 injectors from 1993 buick (wrong injector type but no codes and no problems with operation)
"...and then God said let the 2.2's have potential. Thats when hell broke loose..."

Try again..
2.2L OHV LN2 ( 2200)
2.4L DOHC LD9
which is why I only use the tune repository for stock files.. guy doesn't even know what engine he has.

1) If you didn't try to tune with a wideband, that probably has a lot to due with the low MPG. It does with mine.
2) Having the wrong type of injectors can cause problems with the injector not opening and closing properly, and possibly also starting to burn up the board inside your computer (depending on how well it's built, don't know of anyone who has burned one up though). Probably a good piece of advice is to get the right type of injectors.
3) I doubt with the factory fuel pump that you're pushing enough pressure to do so, but if you get a high enough fuel pressure, you can actually prevent the injector from closing like it should, which will eat up mileage.
I think a lot of it sounds like a mechanical setup issue, and a lot less to do with problems on the tune.
sorry about the ln2 vs ld9 mixup i confuse them all the time

The gas mileage also does not necessarily mean the tune is rich in areas. It just means whoever is driving is getting into it more now that there is boost! LOL
