3 bar how it works

how do you fake a 3 bar map sensor, my understanding is all maps use the 0-5v signal and to "fake one" you take the voltage value and tell the ecu it means "x" pressure, but how do the same sensor read different.. like the inner workings of the sensor. Thanks for your thoughts

The idea behind faking a 3 bar tune is adjusting the map tables with HPT so 4 volts on the 3 bar map sensor will equal 80% of that sensor's max. To the ecm, it's reading that same voltage and seeing 80% of what it thinks to be the stock map sensor. So you adjust your tables accordingly to make the ecm do what you want.

But....don't do it. Some people have successfully faked a 2 bar tune or even a 2.5 bar tune, but what are the advantages? You can adjust spark while in boost, that's it. It's seriously not worth compromising your drive ability for a few subtle changes while in boost.

I tried faking a 2.5 and couldn't get it to work well enough to satisfy me after several hours being put into it.
