So.... Need a little clarification

With a 99 ECM, when its flashed to a 00 up for the 2 bar set up, what do you loose?

Ive looked at the ECM Pin Outs... most everything seems to be in the same place.....

But first I would like a Defendant answer to what you loose.. i would swap clusters and the BCM harness... but I need a tac that can read to 8k RPM....

Thanks

Chris

remote mount your cluster somewhere like in the glovebox, and wire in your own gauges with a home made bezel for the dash. No error codes and no anti-theft problems.

just an idea.

^ You can remove the cluster and still have the vehicle run, no need to relocate it.

After I left the dealer one of the techs that was a complete idiot tried to use my login and got the password wrong to many times. I got locked out and the login/password I got from another tech there expired. I do need to go in and see if they will update my Tech II, maybe get the login/password then.

My 99 will not run with the cluster removed, even with HPT

Send a PM to WhiteCav or Ruen. Those 2 are the only ones off the top of my head that are running a 00 up 2bar on an 99 PCM

^ You have to go through the Theftlock relearn procedure, you just don't have an indication as to when it stops flashing, and it should work.

My 00+ runs fine without the cluster. My 98 ran without it as well when I screwed the cluster up putting a new face on it.

I have never seen a pre 2000 car run without the cluster, but 00+ will all day long.
